FreeDMVTest — Florida Motorcycle 2026 All States
Florida has two paths. Every new Florida motorcyclist must complete a Basic RiderCourse (BRC), which replaces any written test — so a motorcycle endorsement needs no separate exam. The 50-question Class E knowledge test applies only on the Motorcycle Only License path. This page is free motorcycle-knowledge practice for the BRC; if you also need the Class E test, use our Florida Class E (car) practice test.

About the Florida Motorcycle Knowledge Test

The Florida motorcycle knowledge test is the written exam you must pass to earn your motorcycle permit or licence from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Score 40 of 50 correct (80%) to pass. Every question in this practice test is drawn from the official Motorcycle Operator Manual (MSF, 18th Edition) — the same source the real exam is built from.

The exam covers the core riding topics Florida expects every rider to know: motorcycle controls, protective gear and the helmet law, lane positioning, turning and swerving, braking, hazard awareness, riding on slippery surfaces, carrying passengers and cargo, the effects of alcohol, and handling emergencies on two wheels.

How to Use This Florida Practice Test

This simulator gives you exam-style questions five at a time, scores you instantly, and explains every answer with a reference back to the Florida motorcycle manual. To get the most out of it:

One Florida rule worth knowing before test day: Florida requires riders under 21 to wear a helmet. Riders 21 or older may ride without one if they carry at least $10,000 in medical insurance benefits.

Source: Test details are confirmed on the official agency page. Florida has TWO paths: (1) add a motorcycle endorsement to an existing Class E license — the BRC replaces any written test; (2) a Motorcycle Only license — the applicant must also pass the standard Class E knowledge test, 50 questions, 40 correct (80%) to pass. Either way the BRC is mandatory.
