Proof of liability insurance required at all times. Minimum coverage: $25,000 / $50,000 / $25,000. Violations: up to $500 fine (1st), up to $1,000 and/or 6-month suspension (2nd+).
Learner License at 15 (with 21+ supervisor) or 16 → hold at least 6 months and be 17 → Class D License. GDL restrictions for under-18 drivers: no driving midnight–6 a.m. (with exceptions); no more than 1 non-family passenger; no handheld device use.
