💡 Alaska's basic rule (page 29): drive at a speed that is reasonable and prudent for traffic, surface, width, and weather — even if that's below the posted limit. Driving too slowly to maintain normal traffic flow is also prohibited. On two-lane roads outside an urban area, you must safely pull over when 5 or more vehicles are behind you.

⚠️ Alaska Implied Consent (page 14): by driving on Alaska roads you have already consented to a chemical test of your breath. Refusing creates TWO charges — DUI and Refusal — which the court can treat separately. Refusal stays on your record forever.

💡 Alaska law (13 AAC 02.090) requires a minimum 2-second following distance, but the Alaska Driver Manual recommends the 4-Second Rule. Pick a fixed object, count "one-one-thousand…" — if you reach it before 4 seconds, you're too close. Double it to 6+ seconds in rain, snow, ice, fog, or when towing.
