📅 Study Schedule

One-Week Plan

Days 1-2: read the Ohio manual and this study guide. Days 3-5: take a practice test each day and review every missed question, focusing on SEE, lane positions and braking. Days 6-7: take full practice tests until you score 30+ of 40 comfortably.

One-Day Plan

Skim the cheat sheet, take two or three practice tests, and spend the rest of your time on your weakest topics. Remember: 30 of 40 correct (75%) to pass.

✅ Test-Day Checklist

📍 Ohio Gotchas

The permit comes with hard limits. A TIPIC is daylight-only, no passengers, and not valid on congested roads or interstates — and a helmet and eye protection are required.

The course can replace the road test. An approved Motorcycle Ohio course waives the on-cycle skills test, but you must present the completion card to a Deputy Registrar within 60 days.

Under-18 riders have extra steps. Anyone under 18 must complete the Motorcycle Ohio Basic Course and meet Graduated Driver Licensing requirements.

Eye protection is its own rule. Ohio requires eye protection unless the motorcycle has a windshield — separate from, and broader than, the helmet rule.
