📅 Study Schedule

One-Week Plan

Days 1-2: read PUB 147 and this study guide. Days 3-5: take a practice test each day and review every missed question, focusing on SEE, lane positions, and braking. Days 6-7: take full practice tests until you score above 16/20 comfortably.

One-Day Plan

Skim the cheat sheet, take two or three practice tests, and spend the rest of your time on your weakest topics. Remember: 16 of 20 correct (80%) to pass.

📍 Pennsylvania Gotchas

The four-second rule. PUB 147 uses a four-second following distance, five or more in poor conditions and three or more at night - don't default to two seconds.

Permit means full gear. Every permit holder must wear a helmet and eye protection at any age, even though Pennsylvania's general helmet law exempts some adults.

It's a Class M license, not an endorsement. The motorcycle privilege in Pennsylvania is its own license class, added to your existing license.

The course can replace the skill test. Completing the free Basic Rider Course earns your license and waives the PennDOT on-cycle skill test - but you still pass the written knowledge test first.
