💡 Nevada uses a Basic Rule for "reasonable or proper" speed — even below the posted limit, you must reduce speed for weather, traffic, or road conditions. School-zone limits are in effect from 30 minutes before school starts to 30 minutes after it ends, unless otherwise posted.

⚠️ Refusing the chemical test under Nevada's Implied Consent (NRS 484C.220) brings a 1-year revocation — longer than the 185-day administrative revocation for failing the test. An officer may also direct that blood be drawn even on a 1st offense. Marijuana DUI threshold: 2 ng/ml of blood (5 ng/ml metabolite).

💡 Nevada minimum following distance is 2 seconds at 40 mph or less; instructors recommend up to 4 seconds. Commercial vehicles 5+ seconds. The handbook also defines a 12-second look-ahead rule (20–30 seconds at freeway speeds).
