📋 What to Bring to the NY DMV Office

Completed MV-44 Application for Driver License (download from dmv.ny.gov)
6 points of proof of name + age — examples: U.S. passport, NY photo ID, birth certificate, Social Security card (see form ID-44 for the full list)
Social Security number or documented ineligibility
For a REAL ID: two proofs of New York State residence (utility bill, mortgage/lease, pay stub, bank statement — P.O. Box not acceptable)
Proof of U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or temporary lawful status (for REAL ID/EDL)
Under 18: MV-45 Statement of Identity and/or Residence by Parent/Guardian if you don't have 6 points on your own
MV-285 Certificate of Completion if claiming driver-education credit (age 17 applicants)
Corrective lenses if you wear them — you must pass a vision test (20/40 in at least one eye)
Payment for the permit/license fee (based on your age and date of birth)
