📋 What to Bring to the MVD Office

Primary identity document (e.g., certified birth certificate, U.S. passport, or permanent resident card — see the MVD accepted-ID list)
Proof of Social Security number (SSN card, W-2, 1099, pay stub showing SSN, etc.)
Two proofs of New Mexico residency (recent utility bill, bank statement, lease, or similar with your NM address)
Proof of lawful presence in the U.S. (for REAL ID-compliant license) — see the MVD accepted-ID list
Parent or guardian consent form, signed — required for applicants under 18 (Instructional Permit)
Proof of enrollment in or completion of an approved driver-education course — required for NM applicants age 15 and older applying for an Instructional Permit (Manual: Instructional Permit)
