Utah DLD Resources & Official Links

Utah has driver license offices throughout the state along the Wasatch Front and in most regional population centers. The DLD operates by appointment — schedule yours at dld.utah.gov for faster service. Walk-ins are accepted but experience much longer waits because appointments take priority.

• Proof of identity — valid unexpired U.S. passport/passport card, or certified copy of a birth certificate from the State Office of Vital Statistics (or equivalent)
• Proof of Social Security number — Social Security card, W-2, 1099, paystub, military ID, or other acceptable document
• Two documents proving Utah residency — utility bill, bank statement, insurance ID card, rental agreement, Matricular consular card (issued in Utah), employee ID, etc.
• Parent/guardian signature — applicants under 18 must have a parent, guardian, or responsible adult sign for financial responsibility
• Proof of driver education — required for applicants under 19 (or held learner permit 90 days plus 40 hours driving with 10 night for 19+)
• Payment for the applicable fee — $19 learner permit, $39 provisional Class D, $52 regular Class D. If paying by check, a $20 service charge applies if the bank returns it
• Corrective lenses — if you wear them, bring them for the vision test (20/40 with 90° peripheral in at least one eye)
• Your appointment confirmation number — appointments take priority over walk-ins
